Create and manage one-to-one email drafts

Prolibu has no action called Save draft. It has something else that does almost the same job, and it’s worth knowing where the two diverge.

The draft is an email with sending switched off

Section titled “The draft is an email with sending switched off”

In the email form, the Send immediately toggle decides whether the message goes out on creation. Switched off, the record is saved anyway but sits in pending status: it exists, it has a recipient, a subject and a body, and it hasn’t gone out.

That’s a draft for practical purposes. The difference from HubSpot’s is that nothing will send it later on its own: it carries no scheduled send date, so it waits for someone to pick it up. See Schedule a one-to-one email from the CRM for the case where you do want a time.

An email’s three possible statuses are pending, sent and failed. The first covers both the deliberate draft and the email that simply hasn’t gone out yet; the third also brings the error text and the retry count.

It’s worth noticing what’s absent: there’s no dropdown caret with Send / Send later / Save draft, which is precisely the control HubSpot’s article is built around. The actions at the foot are Cancel, Create and Send, and the draft nuance comes from the toggle.

And there’s a precondition that cuts the flow off before it starts: with no email provider connected, nothing can be saved. The record’s Emails tab doesn’t even offer the compose button — it shows the Connect your inbox notice — and if creation is forced, the server rejects it with “No email provider was found to send the email”. In Prolibu you can’t leave an email prepared while you sort out the inbox connection.

Pending emails sit alongside sent ones in the Emails tab of the record they’re addressed to. The practical tell is the sent date: a pending email doesn’t have one.

  • No explicit Save draft action, and none of the send dropdown that contains it.
  • No Pin to attach the email to the record’s timeline.
  • No Copy link to hand a draft to a colleague for review.
  • No Cancel and edit for an already-scheduled email, because there are no scheduled one-to-one emails.
